What is most important to know at this point in the story is that Ima Athol was born in 1888 to Bethesda and Broderick Atholintatacampeeton-Jones. It was because of Ima’s last name of Atholintatacampeeton-Jones that her first grade teacher Lulu Spork requested the principal of the school to allow extra time on tests for Ima to print her name. Lulu was accused of favoritism and fired.
A year later, after Ima Athol flunked out of 1st Grade, the principal of the school became very ill.

Lulu Spork, no longer employed at teaching, worked tirelessly at shortening names and words and founded the lifestyle of Sporking.
It took Ima a long time to remember to use only the back door, not the front.
